Regional Meetup Feedback: Mentimeter?

Hey there, @program and @kddarby25 !

I recently attended State of the Map US, and they did something really engaging, fun, and interesting. The “closing remarks” session was a live feedback poll using Mentimeter!

I know it’s been brought up before that email followup for feedback doesn’t get good response rates. Someone also suggested just having paper feedback options in person as a sort of “exit ticket”. Not sure where y’all are at on this topic, but I wanted to put in a suggestion.

Mentimeter was really fun, though, because responses updated graphs and word clouds on the screen in real time. Always kind of a risk to ask for anonymous feedback live, but people really engaged with it and it felt way more like your response mattered to see it pop up on the screen. And seeing other folks’ responses helped you feel like you were part of something, instead of just getting a feedback nag email that you never see the results of.

I see that closing remarks and announcements are scheduled for 15 minutes. Maybe a few minutes of that could be a live feedback session? I think we’d probably get a better feedback rate from attendees.

Okay, CMAP used it. We got to see it in action. Thoughts?

I thought the ESRI reps used it too…I like it. My office has used it before and it’s a fun easy way for interactive feedback.
