Hi all,
I was wondering if there would be any interest in setting up peer mentoring-- something like connecting mid-late career professionals w/ early career (and possibly soon-to-be graduates), with the goal of meeting ~monthly for 6-12 months. Not sure if this has been done in the past here (just moved back to IL from Texas!).

I like it! ILGISA itself has a jab shadowing initiative that Education is spearheading, I believe, but nothing related to mentoring.
I believe there would be some value in pursuing the idea further. I will add it to the agenda for next week’s meeting for now, but it’s probably worth its own topic here on the forum, too.

Would want the expectations and roles fleshed out before doing any outreach.
Survey interested participants? I will ask about getting questions about this on our annual member survey.
- Who are the target mentees? New professional vs student?
- How long is the commitment? 6 - 12 months minimum
Will create full topic on here for further discussion. Goal would be to launch in spring.

I’m sorry I didn’t send an email. I moved it to Tuesday because I’ll be headed down to the SIUE Regional Meeting Thursday afternoon.
I’d meant to send a reminder earlier, but the day got away from me and it was 3:00 before I knew it. So, that’s on me for procrastinating on the email.
