I am trying to put together a list of ILSTU Alumni because i would like to float the idea of donating an organizational / college membership for the university. I know it’s not super expensive but i can’t afford to do it on my own but would like to see ILSTU become ILGISA members. If you know some alumni or if you are an alumni and would be interested please reach out!

Great idea. I would love to see ISU be more involved with ILGISA and I wouldn’t be opposed to donating to the cause but I would have to have some assurance from the Geography department that they would actually utilize it. It is not that expensive, I definitely think they could afford to join, however my experience in the past is that the faculty really doesn’t value it. That is unfortunate, when I was there in the 90’s I learned about ILGISA from our faculty.
It would be a great benefit to the both organizations I believe, but I do feel it’s unrealistic to have alumni flip the bill for their dues each year. Maybe they can see the benefit if we initiate it, but I would like to hear from them prior.
I appreciate your response! if i can get some people interested i will absolutely discuss this with the department. i agree that it would be great for both orgs and i would like to see if there is a way i can help bridge that gap.
