ILGISA YouTube Channel?

Hey there! Crossover from Board and Committees > Professional Development Committee following the latest meeting. Pinging @llee in particular, but open to feedback and discussion on the idea.

We were discussing the idea of a curated list of resources, and got onto the topic of YouTube, specifically.

Part of the Strategic Plan includes offering up some kind of “how-to snippets”, and it was suggested that YouTube might be a good way of doing this. Putting videos up as “shorts”, and the videos themselves could be easily linked, shared, etc.

I saw there was an ILGISA account on there gathering dust: https://www.youtube.com/@illinoisgisassociation842

Any chance we could get access to that? Using YouTube Studio, we’d be able to standardize the videos we put out, have a watermark with the ILGISA logo, embed the videos elsewhere, etc.

We’d also be able to use YouTube to create curated lists of other YouTube videos from other folks that might be useful to ILGISA members. Tutorials, etc.

We might need to ask @mgaleher who has access to this?

@llee @jcarlson Morning! This YouTube account is tied to the contact@ilgisa.org email address. I have the credentials. I will send you both an encrypted email with the credentials.
